in the BIG EASY

As soon as we got off the plane i was hit w/ some crazy humidity, glasses all fogged up and what not.everyone is sooooooo extremely nice, i love it. When i say good morning to folk,i actually get a real response back not a fake half-way-im-not-awake-smile. Everyone is "babay" and its beautiful. The food is RIDICULOUS(got pics of that). Cafe DuMode is wonderful. Mini funnel cakes:)Last night some kat was in dere from california and was about to buy the place b/c the dounut type funnel cake was bangin".I guess they dont got funnel cake in california??!!?? Alot of music and culture, crazy architecture, nothing like 'up north'. i can actaully classify columns from my art history class.....i have a lotttttta pix and video's.Im out here till Tuesday and have a lot to write about such as me not taking pix inside this B&B...
Down in New Orleans working in the Lower Ninth ward....Being here puts everything into perspective. It may be a little creepy but this is people's live's we are talking about. It seems like everyone forgot about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans but these folks are still here kickin' and fighting to get back what was once their's. kats complain about what they have or dont have so frequently that they dnt even realize how lucky they are to have what they have. Kats down here dont got too much but they are still truckin and still pushin b/c they love their city, its their home, its where they wanna be. it may not make sense to some people but when being here is all you know and all you'll ever know, comming back here to rebuild what you lost is what you HAVE to do because their is nothing else......


I guess ill write some more of my thoughts when i post pix....explain what was goin on.....etc etc....thatll be after tuesday thoooooo b/c thats when i head back up north to the mountains of PA....
